Have you ever wonderd how the legendary samurai sword is made … how the perfection is born ? well it needs sacrifice , tradition and respect. One of tthe best documentary avalable about this process is showing you just thins thing. This movie shows us why this sword is so much treasured and apreciated …ofcourse we speak about autentical katana swords made in the traditional way. I can not say no more than this documentary that’s presenting every aspect of the procces of making a sword. Well worth watching the hole movie it’s just spectacular.
The explosion or the fireball how it is often called can be seen somewhere around he middle of the clip. What takes a good few hours to be machined can me done faster and cheaper by forging with a drop hammer. This process is also resulting into less wasted material. Very impressive working with so much power. The fireball is formed on purpose …the forger throws forging oil over the iron for two reasons. To remove the scale that is forming during the heating process with the blast and to prevent the iron from sticking to the dies. Very impressive movie i hope you like it to.

You can call it extreme blacksmithing work. Everybody heard of how strong a katana sword is .This small clip shows exactly this thing. The process of obtaining such a blade is strongly related to the spirit of the blacksmith and it’s a very fine art. This movie does nothing else than proving the true value of the craft.

This is another black and white movie showing how forging work was done in 1904. They where welding the iron in this manner not only because in that period welding equipment was not standard in the shops but also because this process is resulting with a very good bond between the materials. I can only admire the work that this people do and look at them with respect for the hard work that they used to do so easy.
The hard work that this people do… i am sure it makes they`er spirit more powerful. It’s not very easy to dance with the sledge hammer on those beats. Each peace of the chain is forge welded. Quite hard to find a week link when so much work is involved. I am sure that this people do what they do with passion and this is the reason why they stand all the hard work in the shop. Forging alone splitting out the end of a flat bar
A few weeks ago we finished a project that involved some custom scroll work.
The iron had to go back into the fire about 2 times. They were commissioned by a customer that had his office located in a historically protected building and we had to follow the design of the scrols they were already installed on the other windows.

We forged one of the biggest signs in Timisoara. It is located at the entrance of the casino it was made for. The sign sits on two pillars that were custom made and are 6 meters high. It features two horses holding a shield, The casino’s logo.
We are very proud of how this came out. You can see for yourselves in this picture.
As well as railings and fences, we can make large metal structures like this staircase that spans 4 floors and weighs more then 16 tons.
It is a modular structure, each floor having a corresponding module that are installed one on top of another. The support posts are 220X220 and 10mm thick.
The roof of each module is cut out of corrugated tin reinforced with 220mm I beams.
The transport of these modules to the customer required the usage of wide load trucks.
To mount them, a 45 tone Krupp crane mobile crane was used. It took 8 hours to mount them because the attention that was paid when fabricating the modules.
I will now present to you different stages of the assembly and installation.
Because one can’t do everything on his own and because the merits do not belong to one person I will introduce you to part of the team. From the cutting of the material to the finishing and painting the product, every man leaves his mark on the work that takes shape. Forgers, welders, locksmiths, painters, the management body, they all contribute equally to the completion of our work. The post will be updated.

This is the process of forging and forming a scroll in the way that it was meant to be done. The iron is heated in the forge and then hammered into the desired shape. We have to heat the iron in order for it not to spring back while forming. You can now see what makes hand forged elements so special, and why they have a greater value than a machined one. It is very easy to recognize a machine work and a hand made item… no matter how good the blacksmith is, he can’t make 2 items to be exactly the same. There are always tiny variations because no hammer can fall exactly on the same spot every time, while a machine is just doing them, no sweat, no pain, no character and also no real value. Let’s say you look at a beautiful old gate made many years ago…What will you see ? You will see rivets instead of welds. You will see forged spikes instead of cheap cast ones. You will see character, and if you look close enough, you can probably still see some hammer marks left by the blacksmith that worked so hard making it. This is what gives value to a forged gate and not to some prefabricated elements welded toghether. I give you as an example this picture.. all you have to do is look at it and you will be able to see what I am talking about.
